The Esquimalt Military Family Resource Centre (Esquimalt MFRC) is seeking an experienced, outgoing, and dynamic Community Engagement Manager to join their inclusive and welcoming team.

About the Role

The Community Engagement Manager reports to the Executive Director and focuses on community relations, as well as overseeing a variety of fundraising, marketing, and communications activities. As a key member of the management team, this dynamic position supervises the Volunteer and Special Events Coordinator, and supports Esquimalt MFRC events, as well as other community events and the volunteer program.

We are seeking a "people-person" who thrives on variety, is adaptable and open, welcomes new ideas, and demonstrates a high level of personal initiative all with a constant awareness of supporting and inspiring positive results for the families accessing our programs.

Desired Qualifications

  • 5-10 years' experience in a related position, including fund development and supervisory responsibilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, including confidence in public speaking and strong administrative abilities.
  • Relevant university degree is an asset, though an equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of non-profit family services organizations.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Knowledge of the unique challenges of the military family lifestyle and proficiency in French an asset.
