The HR Generalist acts as the backbone of the client relationship at Engaged HR, providing ongoing tailored support to an ever-evolving variety of clients in tons of different industries (non-profit, private, small/mid sized businesses). Our HR Generalists provide top-notch consulting services, build solid relationships with our clients, and contribute to an extensive range of projects and tactical, day-to-day retainer supports.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide on and off-site HR advisory and consulting services to Engaged HR clients, always with an eye to building momentum and gaining traction on foundational HR needs.
  • Act as project manager, supporting long-term relationships with clients and keeping projects moving.
  • Conduct research on various HR topics, issues, and trends.
  • Develop articles, resources, marketing materials, blog posts and newsletter content to share our expertise.
  • Support business development activities that bring value to the community and promote Engaged HR services.

Examples of projects you might work on include:

  • Managing recruitment of front-line and professional positions.
  • Supporting clients with day-to-day HR tasks and administration, and acting as the HR point of contact.
  • Coaching managers on difficult situations, and providing expertise and advice to resolve employee relations issues.

You bring the following, with passion and enthusiasm:

  • Post-secondary degree, preferably from an HR or business program.
  • A CPHR designation, or are working towards obtaining.
  • 3-6 years' generalist experience in an HR environment.

A background in:

  • Recruitment
  • Compensation and benefits administration
  • Supporting and guiding managers in their HR decisions.
